We are so glad to have students back on campus. The campus is, admittedly, much louder with them around. It's also more lively, fun, and interesting. We are so excited to start another great school year.
There are a few changes that I want to share with you about our College Admission program. In order to have a dialogue about these changes with you, we will be hosting our first evening parent event of the year:
At this event, we will share our agenda for the school year with you, involving:
- Evening parent event schedule
- Student presentations
- The G12 College Counseling seminar
- Our departmental philosophy and evolving approach to advising
- Notable changes in the college admission landscape amid the pandemic
We aim to hold parent events at least once monthly. Here is our tentative presentation schedule:
- September 9 and September 12: Meet the College Admission Team
- October 14 and October 17: What Goes Into the Application?
- November 18 and November 21: Guide to Standardized Testing
- December 9 and December 12: The Elevator Pitch
- January 9: Coffee Talk with G11 Parents
- January 13 and January 16: More than the Sum of its Parts: Packaging a Coherent Application
- February 17 and February 20: The Most Important Essay Your Student Will Ever Write: the Personal Statement
- March 17 and March 20: Senior Sharing Event
- April 10: Rising G9 and G10 Event
- April 17: Rising G11 and G12 Event
